Kane County voters selected Republican nominees for county offices Tuesday while also weighing in on closely watched state and federal contests. According to unofficial election results, all 11 Kane County precincts had reported by late Tuesday evening, though results remain subject to canvassing and certification.
Meyeres wins Commission Seat B
The closest local race occurred for Kane County Commission Seat B, where Celeste Meyeres defeated Matthew LeGrand Cox. Meyeres received 942 votes, or 56.82 percent, while Cox received 716 votes, or 43.18 percent.
Meyeres thanked the communities of Kane County for the decisive win and expressed gratitude for the encouragement received as the race heads toward the November general election.
Lamb wins Clerk/Auditor race
In the race for Kane County Clerk/Auditor, Chameill Lamb won a victory over Martin Hepworth. Lamb received 1,130 votes, or 69.37 percent, compared to 499 votes, or 30.63 percent for Hepworth.
Lamb expressed thanks to Kane County voters for participating in the Republican primary and stated she looks forward to continuing to serve the county with professionalism, transparency, and integrity.
Monson wins House District 69
In the Republican primary for Utah House District 69, Logan J. Monson carried Kane County with 1,048 votes, or 66.88 percent, while Daniel Gardner received 519 votes, or 33.12 percent.
Maloy retains Congressional lead
County voters also favored incumbent U.S. Rep. Celeste Maloy in the Republican primary for Utah’s 3rd Congressional District. In Kane County, Maloy received 1,137 votes, or 69.67 percent, against challenger Phil Lyman, who received 495 votes, or 30.33 percent.
The congressional race served as a rematch between Maloy and Lyman following their closely contested 2024 Republican primary.
Next steps for election results
The winners will advance to the November general election. Election officials will continue processing eligible ballots before results are officially canvassed and certified in the coming weeks.
