The Duchesne County Commission issued a request for proposals for Emergency Medical Services in a notice published August 24. The county is seeking qualified service providers to ensure reliable, professional, and sustainable EMS coverage for residents and visitors.
The proposed contract term is for four years. According to the notice, the county will honor the statutory first right of the incumbent 911 provider to continue interfacility transports.
The selected provider will be responsible for ground ambulance interfacility transports within Duchesne County as needed. Requirements include providing 24/7 EMS coverage across all areas of the county, including Roosevelt, Tabiona, Fruitland, Altamont, and Duchesne. The provider must ensure equitable response times for all areas, acknowledging rural access challenges, and maintain sufficient vehicles, equipment, and facilities to serve the area.
Interested providers must demonstrate experience in providing EMS services in rural areas, particularly in Utah. Qualifications include proof of licensure and certification to provide EMS services in Utah, a proposed staffing plan, and the employment of licensed and certified personnel.

The Duchesne County Commission will review all proposals. Following the review, the commission may conduct further discussions or interviews. A final contract award is anticipated during the first available duly noticed Commission Meeting after the submissions have been reviewed.
