North Ogden City's Recreation Program offered a variety of sports and clubs designed to provide children of all skill levels with engaging activities. These programs, which included baseball, softball, basketball, and flag football, focused on building healthy habits and creating lifelong memories for young athletes.
Baseball and softball league details
The baseball and softball leagues for 3rd through 9th grade ran from the third week of April through the first week of June. Baseball games for 3rd and 4th grade were held in Pleasant View, while 5th/6th grade and Junior High games took place at North Ogden Park. Softball programs utilized a 5x5x5 format in partnership with Pleasant View Recreation to provide more individual playing time.
Basketball divisions and schedules
Basketball offerings included several divisions. Boys basketball for 3rd through 9th grade ran from January through March, with games held at North Ogden Elementary and Pleasant View. Coed basketball for kindergarteners took place in March, while 1st/2nd grade coed basketball occurred from the second week of September through the first week of October.
Additional seasonal sports programs
Other seasonal sports included baseball/softball coach pitch for 1st and 2nd grade and Tball for Pre-K and Kindergarten. Flag football for grades 1 through 6 held registration in June and July, with tackle football for 2nd through 8th grade beginning practices in August.
Community events and fitness clubs
Community events and specialized clubs were also part of the seasonal lineup. The Cherry Days 5K, sponsored by Intermountain North Ogden, was scheduled for July 4th at 7:00 a.m., featuring chip timing and race shirts for the first 400 participants. Additionally, a Running Club for ages 8-14 operated from June 8 through July 4, utilizing McGriff Park for summer running games and fitness instruction.
Various other recreational classes
Other community programs included volleyball, tennis lessons, youth lacrosse, and specialized art, cheer, and dance classes.
