At least one person was killed in a crash involving a semi-truck and a car on I-215 in Taylorsville.
According to officials with the Utah Highway Patrol, the collision occurred near Redwood Road on Monday afternoon.
The crash allegedly resulted in a vehicle fire near milepost 14 in Taylorsville. UHP officials confirmed that the incident was fatal, though they have not yet provided additional details.
The accident initially caused the closure of two lanes on I-215 and eventually led to the full closure of all eastbound traffic at Redwood Road.
Officials recommended that drivers use I-15 as an alternate route. Authorities also advised motorists to plan for heavy delays between Taylorsville and West Jordan.
