Fireworks are banned everywhere in Summit County as the area remains under Stage 2 Fire Restrictions. This prohibition covers all public and private land within the county, including areas within city boundaries.
The fire restrictions were updated as of July 2, 2026. Authorities have noted that violation of this restriction is classified as a misdemeanor.
Prior to the current Stage 2 status, the Summit County Fire Danger Level had increased to Extreme on June 24, 2026. At that time, all state and unincorporated lands in the county were under Stage 1 Fire Restrictions.
The implementation of Stage 2 restrictions followed an order effective June 26, 2026, for all state land and unincorporated areas of Summit County. These measures were prompted by current and forecasted weather conditions combined with extremely dry vegetation conditions in the region.
