Notice of Public Meeting
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on September 10, 2026, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Sandy City Board of
Adjustment will hold a public meeting regarding a Variance application submitted by Porter Rappleye for the property located
at 10156 Majestic Canyon Road lot in the R-1-10 zoning district and the Sensitive Area Overlay zone.
The variance request is seeking relief from Sandy City Land Development Code Sections 21-20-2(a) (related to setbacks), 21-24-
8(b) (related to on-site additional parking), 21-15-04(a)(1)(a) and 21-15-4(a)(2)(a), to construct a new home on a hillside slope in
excess of thirty percent (30%) grade, on a lot within the Sensitive Area Overlay Zone. The Sandy City Land Use Development
Code prohibits the construction of a new home upon areas of thirty percent (30%) or greater slope unless a variance is granted
by the Board of Adjustment. All application materials and a full staff report for this item can be found at
https://sandyutah.legistar.com when the agenda is published (typically the Friday preceding the meeting date).
This Board of Adjustment meeting will be conducted both in-person (in the Sandy City Council Chambers at City Hall, 10000
S. Centennial Pkwy.), and via Zoom Webinar (see details below). Interested parties may attend and participate in the meeting
either in-person or by accessing the meeting using the Zoom webinar link below. Attendees wishing to comment who are
participating virtually must have a microphone connected to their device (smartphone, laptop, desktop, etc.), otherwise you’ll
only be able to view the proceedings. A listen-only option is also available using the phone numbers provided below.
This notice is being sent to known property owners within 500 feet of this proposal. Please forward this information on to
others who may be interested. Interested parties may provide comments prior to the meeting (no later than 3 pm) to Zoning
Administrator Melissa Anderson, at 801-568-7275 or by email at: manderson@sandy.utah.gov.
