Dr. An Ho, a professor of energy engineering at Weber State University, received the Outstanding Professional Award from the U.S. Department of Energy. The award was presented during the annual ITAC Directors Meeting.
As the Director and Principal Investigator of the Weber ITAC Center at Weber State University, Dr. Ho leads initiatives involving industrial energy assessments, student training, workforce development, outreach, and partnerships with government, industry, utilities, and community organizations.
Since securing $550,000 in federal funding to establish the Weber ITAC, Dr. Ho and his team have expanded the center into a program that supports regional industry. The program provides students with hands-on experience to address sustainability and energy efficiency challenges.
In a separate development, Weber State University faculty members Dr. An Ho and Ian Wilkinson participated in an expert panel at the Weber County Nuclear Energy Symposium. The event was part of Utah's Operation Gigawatt Initiative and included community, education, and industry leaders discussing the future of nuclear energy and workforce preparation.
