Smith Entertainment Group (SEG) has shared new construction details regarding the transformation of the Delta Center into a dual-lag venue. The updates outline specific enhancements planned for the 2026 and 2027 offseasons, intended to create an immersive experience for fans of both the NBA's Utah Jazz and the NHL's Utah Mammoth.
When the renovations are complete, every seat in the arena will be replaced and reconfigured to provide full sightlines for both basketball and hockey competitions.
The upcoming transformation includes several structural and design changes. Following this offseason, the upper-north end zone of the Delta Center will feature new terrace-style ledges with full-view seating designed to extend the energy of the lower bowl. Additionally, suspended gondolas will be constructed along both sidelines, offering a bird's-eye view of the event floor for more than 200 fans.
A parking structure located at the southwest corner of the arena is scheduled to be completed before the 2026-27 season.
Major construction in 2027 will introduce a dynamic slope design in the south end zone. This feature will connect the upper and lower levels starting from the floor, positioning fans near the visiting bench to increase intensity during games. Furthermore, renovations to suites on the north side will begin in 2026 and conclude in 2027, featuring refreshed interior designs and extended spaces throughout Level 4.
Concourse and plaza upgrades are also part of the long-term plan. These updates include adding more food and beverage options, redesigning concession locations with new social areas, increasing bathroom capacity, and expanding club spaces around the building.
Future plans for the site involve the addition of a new main entrance and an outdoor plaza intended to serve as a gateway to downtown Salt Lake City.
The Delta Center transformation project is being driven by several specialized groups. Okland Construction is serving as the general contractor, with SCI Architects acting as the lead design firm. Additionally, CAA Icon is providing strategic advice, and Walter P. Moore designed the parking structure.
