The Rocky Mountain Heroes Tribute was scheduled to take place over three days, featuring a banquet, a concert, and a patriotic devotional. The event aims to honor fallen veterans and support the Rocky Mountain Veterans Center.
The weekend of activities included a banquet at the Riverwood’s Conference Center to honor Micheal Allred, who was killed while serving near Balad, Iraq, in 2009. On Saturday, Cache Valley motorcyclists participated in the 19th Annual Lance Corporal Michael J. Allred Ride for the Fallen at Elk Ridge Park.
A free patriotic concert featuring Nashville country artist Cole Hartley was scheduled for Willow Park. However, according to a notice from August 28, the concert was moved to the Cache County Event Center due to weather. While the concert was originally intended to be followed by rescheduled fireworks from July 24, the pyrotechnic display has been postponed until further notice.
Department information advisor Julie Cook stated that the community's patience is appreciated regarding the fireworks postponement as safety is prioritized.
The event concluded with a free patriotic devotional at Elk Ridge Park in North Logan. Colonel Wallace Wally Odd, the Director of the Rocky Mountain Veterans Center, stated the event allows the community to honor Gold Star Families and veterans.
