Legacy businesses in Weber County are continuing to thrive and adapt as the local community grows, according to a September 30 report from the Ogden Weber Chamber of Commerce. The report celebrated several long-standing Ogden establishments that have achieved significant milestones through decades of operation.
Ray’s Auto Body is expanding its Ogden facility to increase repair capacity due to growing demand. The family-owned business has operated in Ogden since 1965 and is currently managed by the third generation of the founding family.
Javier’s Authentic Mexican Food has reached 35 years in business. After starting in 1991 with a single restaurant on 29th Street featuring 10 tables, the business has expanded to six restaurants across Weber and Davis counties.
KIER Construction is celebrating 40 years of operation. Founded in 1986 by brothers Steve and Scott Kier, the firm has grown from a small family general contractor into a prominent multifamily housing builder and commercial project leader in the Intermountain West, having completed more than 2,000 projects across nine Western states.
Ogden Regional Medical Center is celebrating 80 years of community care. Established in 1946 by a group of nuns, the facility became Utah’s first Level II Trauma Center in 1992. The center is currently investing $77 million toward its future, with goals of reaching $80 million in total investments.
The chamber noted that while Ogden attracts new industries, many legacy businesses are successfully adapting and growing alongside the developing community.
