Skyridge High School football is preparing for the 2026 season following a preview on August 7 that indicated the Falcons are positioned for a strong run in Region 3 and Class 6A. According to a report published August 12, the team is currently reloading rather than rebuilding.
During an intrasquad Orange and Gray scrimmage held on August 7, the Falcons displayed a foundation of veteran returners. Head Coach Justin Hemm stated that the team's hard work during a long off-season has prepared them for the upcoming season.
The offense features new quarterback Jagger Fountaine, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound signal-caller who showed mobility and arm strength during the scrimmage. Hemm noted that the backfield includes Beckham Bennett, Ului Faletau, and Amanaki Levatau, and mentioned that Cannon Tripp is also a hard-working quarterback. The wide receiver group includes Malosi Shepard, Dax Rehrer, Omarion Sanders, Stewart Wesley, and Koa Wallwork.
On the offensive line, senior center Andy Anderson provides leadership alongside returning starters Soren Christiansen and Veni Fuatapu. The unit was developed by Coach Tanner Roberts and new position coach Heneli Bloomfield.
The defensive unit is led by returning linebacker Rex Caswell. Other members of the linebacker crew include Crew Stevens and Drayson Afalava. The secondary includes Ethan Schriever, Jaden Tahi, Daison Merrill, Eli Mortensen, and Bryson Mears. The defensive line is coached by Tavita Sagapolu.
Team captains for the 2026 season include Stevens, Anderson, Fountaine, Caswell, and Rehrer. Coach Hemm noted that these captains have matured and stepped into their leadership roles through personal performance and behavior.
Skyridge faces a difficult schedule this season, including two out-of-state opponents in weeks four and five. The team also faces competitive non-region opponents including Skyline, Orem, and Mountain Ridge. The Falcons are scheduled to play Mountain Ridge on the road on Thursday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m.
