Burton Elementary marked School Nurse Appreciation Day on May 6, 2026, with a tribute to the staff members responsible for student health and safety. The celebration honored the kindness and compassion shown by those managing the school's healthroom.
The spotlight featured Ashlee, the Health Clerk, who is currently in her second year at Burton. She stated that she enjoys taking care of students and helping them feel safe each day. In her role as wellness captain, she creates challenges intended to help staff members achieve better health and happiness. Ashlee is also working toward a degree in public health with an interest in corporate wellness.
School Nurse Cami was also recognized for her work. She has been a nurse for 14 years and has worked within the Davis School District for three years. Cami expressed her appreciation for the culture, staff, and students at Burton Elementary.
The school's recognition highlighted the essential role the healthroom staff plays in managing everything from minor injuries to student wellness.
