The Tooele City Police Department continues to manage more than 17,000 annual calls for service through its various divisions, according to information released by the city on June 10.
Department leadership and structure
The department is led by Chief Adrian Day, who was sworn into his position on July 7, 2021. The force consists of 40 sworn officers and nine civilian employees organized into three primary divisions: Patrol, Investigations, and Operational Support Services.
Specialized units and divisions
Within these structures, the department maintains specialized units including SWAT, Special Victims, and Property/Major Crimes. The Animal Control and Ordinance Compliance division specifically focuses on enforcing regulations to maintain neighborhood integrity and property values.
Upcoming K-9 training schedules
In related law enforcement development, Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) has announced several upcoming in-service training dates for K-9 programs. A SWAT Dog course was scheduled to run from June 8 to June 12, 2026.
Future certification course dates
Other upcoming certification courses include a Patrol Dog program running from July 13, 2026, to September 3, 2026. POST also noted that detector dog training is scheduled for later this year, beginning October 19, 2026.
