September marks the beginning of festival season in Utah, according to a City Cast Salt Lake report published August 27. The report highlights several upcoming cultural celebrations and food-focused events occurring throughout the state.
The Festival Latinoamericano is scheduled for Sept. 4-7 at Utah County's Historic Courthouse. On Sept. 5, Salt Lake City's Library Square will host the Afro Utah Festival, featuring local shopping, fashion and art showcases, and live music.
Oktoberfest is taking place at Snowbird through Oct. 11. The Salt Lake City Greek Festival, which marks its 50th year, is scheduled for Sept. 11-13 at Holy Trinity Cathedral.
On Sept. 12, Orem hosts the Utah Brazilian Festival, featuring live music, capoeira, art, and activities. The same day, SLC VegFest will return to Salt Lake's Library Square with a beer garden and kid-friendly activities.
Other scheduled events include the Festa Italiana at the Gateway from Sept. 19-20. On Sept. 26, the Marmalade Jam Fest will feature live music and dancing in the Capitol Hill neighborhood near the Marmalade Library.
These events offer various opportunities for residents to engage with local culture and food throughout the month of September.
