In a report published August 27, local prep sports saw significant action across volleyball and girls soccer. Results included dominant performances in both regional and non-region play.
In volleyball, APA West Valley defeated Wasatch Academy 3-0 in Region 16. Non-region matchups saw North Sanpete defeat Juan Diego 3-0, Uintah overcome Juab 3-1, and Delta beat Ogden 3-1. Additionally, Snow Canyon defeated Richfield 3-0, while Gunnison Valley took a 3-0 victory over Manti.
In 2A South girls soccer, the San Juan Broncos defeated Gunnison Valley 6-0 in Blanding. Ari Adams scored twice for the Broncos, and Colee Crofts recorded a shutout. In Parowan, the Beaver Beavers defeated Parowan 6-1, with Ruby Lurth scoring four goals and Cassie Haynie scoring for the Rams.
Non-region girls soccer results included the Carbon Dinos defeating Richfield 3-1 in Price, led by two goals from Naomi Smith, while Claire Hulet scored for the Wildcats. In Cedar City, the Manti Templars defeated Canyon View 4-1, with goals from Haddie Rasmussen, Madison Cox, Madelyn Bridges, and Avery Anderson.
