Bank of Utah was named Best Community Bank in the 2026 Best of State Awards, according to a notice from the bank. The award recognizes the institution for its steady performance, innovative financial services, and commitment to communities throughout Utah.
Bank of Utah President Branden P Hansen stated that the bank is honored by the recognition and remains focused on creating prosperity for clients and communities.
In 2025, bank team members contributed more than 2,000 volunteer hours, with 313 employees supporting 107 organizations across the state. Additionally, more than 30 team members served on community and nonprofit boards.
Other community efforts included the distribution of $200,000 in matching grants to 30 nonprofits through the Federal Home Loan Bank Member Impact Fund. The bank also assembled over 1,000 hygiene kits for teens and collected more than 600 bags of winter clothing through a state clothing drive.
The bank also leads the Financial Literacy for Utah Teens initiative, which was developed in partnership with The Policy Project and the PGA TOUR. As part of the bank's sponsorship of the Bank of Utah Championship at Black Desert Resort, the program aims to introduce financial education to 86 Teen Centers statewide. The initiative is expected to help more than 15,000 Utah students build independence.
The 2026 Best of State winners were scheduled to be honored at an annual awards gala on June 2 at the Salt Palace Grand Ballroom.
