The Heber Valley Chamber has recognized the Community Alliance for Main Street (CAMS) as the May 2026 Business of the Month. According to a notice from the Chamber, the organization is being honored for its role in the success of downtown Heber City through community events, historical preservation, and economic development efforts.
Since 2004, CAMS has operated with a mission focused on the Heber City Main Street corridor and surrounding side streets. The organization's pillars include historical preservation, creating community spaces, building local businesses, and supporting economic vitality.
CAMS has established several community events, including the Old Fashioned Christmas celebration and the annual Halloween Fest. The organization also introduced a Cinco de Mayo celebration in 2026. To support expanding operations and community programming, CAMS recently secured funding for a full-time position to supplement its volunteer-based efforts.
The organization emphasizes business advocacy by supporting entrepreneurs and helping small businesses expand or find additional downtown locations. CAMS chairman Tom Stone, a longtime resident and owner of several commercial buildings along Main Street, has advocated for downtown revitalization and the use of public art to honor local heritage.
Through collaborative efforts with local municipalities and business owners, CAMS aims to maintain the character of Heber City while fostering an environment for ongoing investment and growth.
