IRON COUNTY COMMISSION
PUBLIC NOTICE – TEMPORARY LAND USE REGULATION
The Iron County Commission will consider action at their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, August
10, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Iron County Courthouse located at 68 S 100 E, Parowan, Utah.
The County Commission will consider an ordinance amending Section 1 of Ordinance 2026-13, which
established a temporary land use regulation and moratorium on certain land use applications associated
with data centers, data center power plants, and solar power plants.
The proposed amendment clarifies that the temporary land use regulation does not apply to battery energy
storage systems (BESS) for which a valid, unexpired, and duly approved conditional use permit was issued
prior to the effective date of Ordinance 2026-13 (May 26, 2026).
