Southern Utah University's Non-Traditional Student Services released a newsletter detailing resources and academic opportunities for students during the spring semester. The publication emphasized available support systems designed to help students navigate the semester successfully.
The newsletter outlined several upcoming academic dates, including senior registration for the Summer 2026 semester starting February 5. Summer 2026 course registration was scheduled to run from February 5 through February 18. Additionally, a cap and gown pick-up event was scheduled for February 25-26 at the Hunter Alumni Center during the Grad Fair.
Other scheduled dates included spring break, with no classes held from March 9 to March 13 and the campus closed on March 14 and 15. Finals week was scheduled for April 20 through April 23.
Various community and campus events were noted, including TEDxSUU on February 10 and SUU Night at the Utah Jazz on February 12. Students can also find information regarding SUU Athletics, SUU Performing Arts, and Career Center events through university schedules.
To assist students, the university provides several resources, such as the IT Help Desk for technological support and Trula for silent study sessions. The Student Health Clinic offers free services for non-emergency health issues, while Four Points Health is available for more complex concerns. Mental health support is provided through Timely Care, which allows students nine free therapy sessions per school year.
The HOPE Pantry was highlighted as a resource providing food and toiletry items to SUU students, alongside educational opportunities for meal planning and food budgeting. Additionally, the university implemented a new severe weather notification system to provide updates regarding campus responses to winter storms via text, email, and social media.
The Non-Traditional Student Office remains available to connect students with tools for their specific needs, including assistance with childcare sign-ups and academic advising. Students can reach the office at 351 W. University Blvd. ST172, Cedar City, UT 84720.
