Gordon Dennis "Dennis" Petersen, 81, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on September 9, 2026, according to a report published by the Logan Herald Journal. He died surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on July 1, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Claude and Yvonne Petersen, Dennis was a veteran of the United States Air Force, which included service during the Vietnam War. He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in various callings, including as a temple ordinance worker and through youth programs such as Scouting.
Petersen is survived by his wife, Francene, and four daughters: Angela, Tracy, Debbie, and Teri. His family includes 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 44 extended family members.
A viewing was scheduled for September 20, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Star Mortuary in Boulder City. A service was scheduled for September 21, 2026, at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1002 Burkholder Blvd, Henderson, NV, followed by interment at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City at 12 p.m.
