The Utah Transit Authority has announced several upcoming service developments, including the expansion of UTA On Demand service into portions of northern Utah County. This expansion covers areas including Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs, Lehi, American Fork, and Highland.
The UTA On Demand service was scheduled to launch in northern Utah County on August 16, 2026, as part of the Fall Change Day 2026. This service is sponsored by Utah County and the Utah Department of Transportation.
In addition to the On Demand service, the Utah Transit Authority is seeking public input regarding proposed service and fare changes for 2027. The public comment period for these proposals is scheduled from August 10 to September 9.
The agency is also managing various construction and maintenance projects throughout 2026. These include essential maintenance on various TRAX light rail and FrontRunner commuter rail lines, as well as a summer construction schedule involving the S-Line streetcar extension and a grade crossing rebuild.
Other recent agency updates include the implementation of the UTA FAREPAY Card as a recommended payment method and the appointment of Paul Ray as government relations director.
