State Route 153 through Beaver Canyon is closed indefinitely after flash flooding and debris flows caused severe damage or washed away portions of the road on Sunday afternoon. UDOT is assessing extensive damage as additional storms could worsen conditions.
The hard closure for the roadway begins near milepost 7.5 east of Beaver. The damage occurred during events on July 20, 2026.
In other regional developments, UDOT began construction on a multi-use trail in Vernal on Monday, July 20. The project is intended to connect two colleges, three schools, and community destinations to provide safer walking and biking options for residents and students.
UDOT has also advised drivers of recent weekend lane closures on I-80 and I-15 involving paving, bridge inspections, and pavement testing in Parleys Canyon, Payson, and Tooele County. Additionally, a ramp closure occurred from eastbound I-80 to southbound I-215 at Exit 117 from July 13 through July 15.
