Green Acres Elementary is moving forward with initiatives to build safe and inclusive playgrounds for its more than 500 students. The school has recognized community partners like The Michel Foundation, which provided a matching donation of $2,500 to support the project.
The playground project aims to replace old equipment that does not meet safety standards. School community members have been actively participating in fundraising efforts, including Momentum Week, where donations were matched to accelerate progress toward the new playground.
In addition to infrastructure goals, the school maintains a variety of community engagement events. A family movie night featuring K-Pop Demon Hunters was scheduled for Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, with free admission offered to families.
The school also hosts various educational and seasonal activities, such as the annual flu clinic and Red Ribbon Week programs. Recent student highlights include participation in the NOYO Honor Roll and science-based art projects like apple mummification.
