Murray City Police detectives suspect there may be additional victims in the community following the recent arrest of two sexual assault suspects. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
On June 24, officers arrested Yousef M. Yousef and Odai E Ali, both age 18. The charges include sexual abuse of a child, a second-degree felony, and lewdness involving a child, a Class A misdemeanor. Yousef also faces a charge of rape of a child, which is a first-degree felony.
According to a statement from the Murray City Police Department, an ongoing investigation has revealed evidence suggesting these arrests may not be an isolated incident. Detectives believe the suspects used various social media applications and tracked locations through digital platforms to target and locate victims.
Investigators expressed concern that other individuals might have been contacted, tracked, or victimized under similar circumstances. The department stated that while they understand coming forward is difficult, they want victims to know they are not alone and that any information provided will be handled with sensitivity, confidentiality, and respect.
