Mapleton City's Public Works department is proposing revisions to its Public Works Design Standards, which were originally adopted in 2023. The standards establish requirements for public infrastructure under the city's jurisdiction, including projects constructed by the city and those proposed with private development.
The proposed revisions involve updates to existing written standards and standard drawings. Additionally, the updates include new written standards, standard drawings, and city-specific modifications to the Utah American Public Works Association (APWA) General Conditions.
The final draft of the revised standards is available for review on the Mapleton website under Departments, Public Works, Engineering, and Construction Standards. The update is scheduled to be presented for Council approval at the Mapleton City Council Meeting on September 2, 2026, at 6:00 pm at the Mapleton City Council Chambers located at 125 West 400 North. This meeting will feature a public hearing regarding the adoption of the proposed standards.
