Luane Jensen was honored during the South Jordan City Council Meeting on July 21, 2026, for her 50 years of service to South Jordan City. A proclamation was issued by Mayor Dawn R. Ramsey to recognize Jensen's long-standing dedication to the community.
According to the official proclamation, Jensen has spent over five decades serving South Jordan with passion and determination. Her work has focused on preserving local history, traditions, and the hometown spirit of the area.
Jensen has served on the South Jordan Historical Committee and volunteered at the Gale Center of History and Culture. She has been instrumental in supporting historic landmarks and memorials, including the Birthplace of South Jordan monument and the Veterans Memorial Monument at the South Jordan Cemetery.
In addition to her historical work, Jensen has been a driving force behind the South Jordan Memorial Day program. Her efforts include coordinating volunteers, honoring veterans, and assisting with the placement of flags on veterans' graves.
Beyond her civic contributions, Jensen has served as a BSA Scout leader for more than 50 years, mentoring youth in values such as service, patriotism, and responsibility. Mayor Ramsey expressed the city's gratitude for Jensen's legacy of preserving history and strengthening the community.
