Adults aged 18 and over are required to provide proof of identification and residency. To qualify, the name on the library card application must match the name on the provided identification.
For those with a valid Utah driver's license or Utah ID card showing a current address, this serves as sufficient proof. Alternatively, individuals may use government-issued photo identification, such as a passport, military ID, permanent resident card, or an out-of-state driver's license, provided they also present one of the following documents listing their name and current address: lease agreements, mortgage papers, utility or cell phone bills, bank statements, paycheck stubs, government-issued correspondence, or home or car insurance.
Children under the age of 18 are eligible for library cards if a parent or legal guardian applies on their behalf and assumes financial responsibility for the card.
Non-residents living within Tooele County but outside of Tooele City may also apply for a library card. These individuals may purchase a card for a one-year period to borrow items, subject to the library's fee schedule.
