The 6th Annual Springville Art Festival was scheduled to return to historic downtown Springville, Utah, on September 11-12, according to a September 3 report. The event aims to bring artists, performers, filmmakers, and community members together for two days of creativity in Utah's "Art City."
The festival was set to take place at Civic Center Park, Festival Street, and the Rivoli Theater. More than 50 artists were scheduled to participate in booths at Civic Center Park, offering original artwork in various styles and price points. Many artists were also expected to demonstrate creative processes or provide interactive activities.
Live entertainment was scheduled to fill Civic Center Park with performances at the Main Stage Gazebo and buskers throughout the park. On Friday, September 11, performances were scheduled from 5:00–9:00 p.m., while Saturday, September 12, performances were scheduled from 10:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. A new addition to the festival included headlining performances on Festival Street on Saturday evening from 5:00–8:30 p.m., alongside food trucks.
The festival schedule included several specialized events. A film showcase featuring family-friendly short films by local filmmakers was scheduled for Friday evening from 7:00–8:30 p.m. at the Rivoli Theater. On Saturday morning, artists were scheduled to participate in the Plein Air Paint-Out and Sculpt-Out and Chalk the Walk from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Saturday also featured the Springville’s Got Talent showcase at the Main Stage Gazebo at 6:00 p.m. to celebrate local performers. Additionally, free art activities and community art projects led by Rebecca Pletsch were scheduled at Civic Center Park on both Friday and Saturday.
The Springville Art Festival is an annual celebration presented by Springville Public Art, a program of the Springville Museum of Art. The museum, founded in 1903, is housed in a 45,000-square-foot Spanish Colonial building in Springville.
