The Uintah County Library Main Branch scheduled a Kids Cafe event for Thursday, August 27, 2026. The program, which was set to run from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, was aimed at providing free snacks to kids and teens at the library.
The Utah Food Bank’s Kids Cafe is offered through partnerships with community centers, Boys & Girls Clubs, and educational after-school sites at local elementary schools. The program is designed to help fill the nutrition gap that often exists during out-of-school hours for children who rely on free or reduced-price meal programs during the school day.
Objectives of the program include ensuring children most vulnerable to hunger receive an evening meal and providing balanced nutrition in each meal served. The program is offered to children under 18 years of age, and food must be consumed onsite.
The event was intended for an audience including children, tweens, and teens.
