Utah native Jackson Hartley performed original music during a session of Paper Jams at Cloud 9 Studios. The rising country artist used the session to showcase his storytelling through music.
Hartley, who also works as a photographer and videographer, has been performing nonstop since the summer of 2023. He stated that he regained his confidence onstage after a seven-year hiatus from performing. This hiatus began at age 14 when he forgot the lyrics to a Tim McGraw song while performing for roughly 2,000 people at Alpine Days and walked off the stage.
During the Cloud 9 Studios visit, Hartley performed his original song Not the One and his latest single, Where I Don't Belong. He indicated that several new songs are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
Hartley was inspired to play guitar at age 8 by his older brother, who is also a country musician.
