A primary item on the agenda is a public hearing regarding proposed amendments to Ordinance 85-3, Section 4.2 D. These amendments concern permitted uses for the Rar-1 zone, specifically regarding farm stands.
During a previous meeting on July 2, 2026, the commission discussed a farm stand on lot #161. Members debated whether a conditional use permit is required and noted that current ordinance language requiring products to be raised on the premises creates conflicts when other farmers participate. The commission agreed to consider amending the ordinance to change the requirement to products raised in Castle Valley to support local agriculture.
The meeting will also address new business regarding the town council interviewing and approving Planning and Land Use Commission candidates. Additionally, the commission will discuss updates to land use application forms to align them with recent procedural changes and amendments to Ordinance 95-6.
