Summit County has announced the 8th Community Noxious Weeds Tour to promote collaborative efforts in managing invasive plants, according to an August 25 statement. The event aims to assist homeowners, land managers, and residents interested in maintaining the natural beauty of the county.
The tour is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Richardson Flat Park & Ride. Participants can receive hands-on instruction to identify the most prevalent noxious weeds in Summit County and learn practical management techniques for their own properties.
Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with local experts from the Summit County Weeds Division, Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter, Summit CWMA, Basin Recreation, and USU Extension – Summit County.
The event is free to attend, though organizers suggest an RSVP at summitcounty.info/weedstour26. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and bring questions to the tour.
