The Utah Democratic Party has released a series of statements addressing recent political actions and legislative pressures within the state. Recent communications from the party highlight concerns regarding reproductive rights, border policy, and diversity initiatives.
In one press release, the party addressed Republican Burgess Owens, stating he is pushed to restrict IVF access and reproductive freedom.
The party also issued a statement regarding Governor Cox sending National Guard and troopers to promote a political agenda on the southern border. Additionally, Utah and Salt Lake County Democrats criticized Utah Republicans for what they described as self-serving attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Further statements from the party include support for transgender Utahns against discriminatory political attacks and criticism of Governor Cox for turning his back on vulnerable communities.
Looking toward future elections, the Utah Democratic Party announced its 2024 coordinated campaign, titled Organize Utah. This announcement followed a period they described as the Utah GOP being in disarray.
