The Utah Valley Job Fair will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 2-5:00 p.m. at the Utah Valley Convention Center in Provo. The event is expected to feature more than 100 participating employers across various industries.
Allison Keller, Public Information Officer for the Utah Department of Workforce Services, stated that the fair is Utah's largest community job fair. The event is described as a dynamic, in-person event designed to connect job seekers and employers for career exploration and real hiring opportunities.
Mark Middlebrook, Director of Outreach at Mountainland Technical College, said the fair is an opportunity for those starting their careers or looking for new opportunities. Middlebrook suggested that job seekers prepare by updating their resumes and preparing a 30-second elevator pitch.
The job search process can be difficult, as Utah's unemployment rate stands at 3.6% with approximately 67,900 residents looking for work. Shailey Stubbs, a Lehi City resident, noted the frustration of sending digital resumes without receiving responses or even rejection emails.
