Summit County will host its 8th Community Noxious Weeds Tour to promote community-wide efforts in managing invasive plants. The event is designed for homeowners, land managers, and anyone interested in maintaining the natural beauty of Summit County.
The tour was scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Richardson Flat Park & Ride. The event is free to the public, though organizers expressed that RSV
Ps are appreciated.
Participants will receive hands-on instruction to identify the most prevalent noxious weeds in Summit County. The tour also offers practical techniques for managing these weeds on private property. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with experts from the Summit County Weeds Division, Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter, Summit CWMA, Basin Recreation, and USU Extension – Summit County.
Organizers recommend that attendees bring questions and wear comfortable shoes. The event is part of an effort to keep the community noxious weed-free.
