A planned power outage was scheduled for the overnight hours of Tuesday, September 15, to Wednesday, September 16, according to a notice on the city of Virgin website. The outage was expected to begin at 11:00 PM and conclude with restoration by 5:00 AM.
The outage was necessary to tie in the new Pocketville substation. Crews were scheduled to perform distribution and transmission work at the Toquerville station on the 34.5kV transfer bus to energize the new substation. Residents were advised to plan ahead for the overnight hours, particularly those who rely on well pumps or medical equipment.
