Bountiful Elementary is entering a busy period marked by spring performances, scheduled field trips, and the conclusion of testing. Principal Pickett advised families to ensure students come to school dressed for fluctuating spring weather, including bringing jackets or layers as needed.
As the school year enters its final stretch and concludes the Month of the Military Child, staff are encouraging students to maintain P.A.W.S. expectations, which include practicing kindness, acting responsibly, working and playing safely, and showing respect.
Upcoming Spring Performance Schedule
Several spring performances are scheduled for this week. The 1st Grade Spring Sing will take place on Wednesday, April 29th, with a family performance at 2:30pm. On Thursday, April 30th, the 4th Grade Utah Program will hold a family performance at 2:00pm. For security reasons, school-day assemblies are limited to students and staff, so families attending these designated performances must check in at the office.
Student Council Application Deadlines
For students interested in joining the Student Council for the 2026-2027 school year, current 4th and 5th grade applicants must return completed applications to Mrs. Payne by Friday, May 1st. The school noted that late applications cannot be accepted.
Chaperone Requirements for Field Trips
Regarding upcoming field trips, families interested in serving as chaperones are reminded to ensure their background checks are completed prior to the events. Questions regarding trips can be directed to the school office.
Celebrating Principal Retirement Open House
The school community is also celebrating the retirement of former principal Kristen McDonough, who served Bountiful Elementary for five years. A retirement open house will be held on Friday, May 1st, from 2:00-3:30pm at Valley View Elementary, located at 1395 South 600 East in Bountiful.
Available Mental Health Resources
Additionally, the school is highlighting mental health resources, including a ParentGuidance.org course regarding the impact of digital media on children's mental health, and a Nurturing Healthy Relationships Workshop scheduled for April 28th at Creekside Elementary.
