The St. George Planning Commission held a meeting on August 25, 2026, to review several land use requests. The commission issued unanimous positive recommendations to the City Council regarding a zoning change for Horizon Ridge and a conditional use permit for Flightline RV Storage.
The commission held a public hearing for a zone change request involving approximately 35.76 acres in Horizon Ridge. The request, submitted by American Consulting & Engineering, sought to change the zoning from R-1-8 and R-1-10 to R-1. The property is located north of Dixie Intermediate School and south of Province Way. Following the hearing, the commission voted unanimously to forward a positive recommendation for the change to the City Council.
The commission also considered a conditional use permit for Flightline RV Storage, submitted by Desert Canyon Development Inc. The request involves a development with an aggregate ground floor footprint of 20,000 square feet or more. After the discussion, the commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of the permit to the City Council.
Additionally, the commission approved the meeting minutes from August 11, 2026. Community Development Director Carol Winner noted she would report on items from the August 20, 2026, City Council meeting, including matters regarding Bucks Ace Sun River, a detached ADU, and Barefoot Montessori.
