The Sevier County Commission convened on July 13, 2026, to review several administrative actions and regional agreements. The meeting agenda included items ranging from land use regulations for data centers to cooperative agreements with Utah State University extension services.
During the session, the Commission addressed several departmental requests and contracts. This included consideration of a 2026 Cooperative Agreement for USU Extension Services and a contract amendment from the Utah Attorney General’s Office regarding services for the Children’s Justice Center.
Other items on the agenda involved reviewing payment approval reports, approving minutes from previous meetings, and considering requests from departments to surplus personal property. The Commission also reviewed an assignment order from Jones & DeMille for the Sandledges Trailhead design.
Regulatory and infrastructure matters were also part of the discussion. The Commission considered an ordinance to establish temporary land use regulations on data centers, as well as agreements involving Caselle Cloud and Placer.ai services.
A discussion was scheduled with the R6 Regional Council regarding public education on nuclear energy. Additionally, the Commission reviewed recommendations from the Tourism Advisory Board and assessed valuation changes and personal property refunds recommended by the Assessor.
The meeting took place at the Sevier County Administration Building located at 250 North Main in Richfield. As permitted by Utah State law, the Commission maintained the ability to close portions of the agenda regarding matters involving litigation, personnel, or security.
