Peppy, a robotics startup operating in Silicon Slopes, announced the closing of its pre-seed funding round on August 17. The startup is developing a coding platform for humanoid robotics intended to democratize physical AI.
The funding round was led by Element Ventures, with strategic participation from Rock Creek Capital, LLC, Mana Ventures, and Yonder. Peppy plans to use the capital to accelerate the development of a fast-prototyping solution referred to by founders as the Lovable for Robotics. This platform is designed to allow users to input text prompts to receive working robotic code for use in simulated environments and the real world.
Daniel Lambert, Founder and CEO of Peppy, stated that the company's near-term vision involves building a seamless prompt-to-execution bridge for the physical world. Peppy is working to break down barriers to entry in hardware and robotic coding by streamlining the prototyping process for researchers, developers, and creators.
Colin Gardiner, a founding partner of Yonder, said the company is investing in Peppy to bring together various skills and applications, noting a need for standardization in robotics to enable an app marketplace.
To support this vision, Peppy is expanding its core team and ecosystem. The company is currently recruiting engineers specializing in Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models to help bridge the gap between real-time physical control and large multimodal reasoning. Peppy has also issued an open call for collaboration with teams building specialized point solutions or robotic intelligence.
