The Utah Mammoth have unveiled key home dates for their upcoming 2026-27 season, featuring a high-profile outdoor matchup at Rice-Eccles Stadium and several reunions with former players. The schedule includes 42 games at the Delta Center, headlined by a New Year's Eve appearance in the NHL Winter Classic.
Home Opener and Player Reunions
The Utah Mammoth will kick off their 2026-27 campaign on Oct. 1, 2026, with a home opener against the Chicago Blackhawks. According to the Utah Mammoth, this matchup serves as a repeat of the franchise's inaugural game held on Oct. 8, 2024. The team enters its third season having won its previous two home openers and will face a divisional rival in this scheduled match.
The upcoming season features several dates where the Mammoth will welcome back former players to the Delta Center. On Oct. 1, defenseman Ian Cole will return to Utah when the Blackhawks visit. The team also scheduled matchups on Jan. 31 and Feb. 2 against the Nashville Predators, which will mark the first time Alexander Kerfoot plays in Salt Lake City since his departure from the organization.
Additionally, the schedule includes a March 9 game against the New York Rangers, featuring defenseman Sean Durzi. The Mammoth are also preparing for reunions with players Anders Lee and Vincent Trocheck, who will face their former teams when Utah hosts the New York Islanders on Dec. 15 and the Rangers on Mar. 9.
The schedule highlights a major outdoor event for the local hockey community. On Dec. 3:: 2026, Utah will host the NHL's premier outdoor game, the Discover NHL Winter Classic, at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. The event will feature a matchup between the Colorado Avalanche and the Utah Mammoth on New Year's Eve.
According to NHL Experiences, official ticket packages for the 2027 Discover NHL Winter Classic are currently sold out. While the organization noted that fans can complete a form to be notified if additional packages become available, no further inventory is presently accessible for the event.
The middle of the season features several high-stakes matchups and long stretches of home ice. From Jan. 23 to Feb. 2, the Mammoth will embark on their longest homestand of the season, playing six consecutive games at the Delta Center. This stretch includes opponents such as the Boston Bruins, Minnesota Wild, Buffalo Sabues, Washington Capitals, and Nashville Predators.
On Jan. 29, the team will host Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechchkin. The Utah Mammoth noted that because Ovechkin signed a one-year contract extension for the 2026-27 season, this match may represent one of the final opportunities to see the NHL's leading scorer at the Delta Center.
February will also feature a heavy home schedule, with games scheduled on three of the four Fridays in the month. The Mammoth will host the Calgary Flames on Feb. 12, the Seattle Kraken on Feb. 19, and the Florida Panthers on Feb. 26.
Other notable dates include a Dec. 17 matchup against the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Carolina Hurricanes. The team also faces the New York Islanders on Dec. 15.
As the season approaches its conclusion, the Mammoth will host a highly anticipated playoff rematch against the Vegas Golden Knights on Apr. 3. The Utah Mammoth noted that this is the only time Vegas will visit the Delta Center during the regular season, recalling the intense atmosphere of their previous three home playoff games.
The regular season will conclude with a home game against the Dallas Stars on Apr. 7. The team indicated that this finale could carry significant implications for the playoffs, as the matchup offers two divisional points up for grabs.
The full 84-game schedule is now available to fans, providing a roadmap for the 42 home games scheduled in Utah for the 2026-27 season.
