Price, UT, September 3, 2026 — The Manti-La Sal National Forest will lift Stage 1 Fire Restrictions effective Friday, September 4 at 12:01 a.m., under Forest Order #04-10-26-00-06. This action allows campfires and other activities normally permitted under standard forest regulations to resume across the forest.
Land managers determined that conditions were appropriate for rescinding the restrictions after thoroughly evaluating current fuel moisture levels, vegetation conditions, the availability of firefighting resources, and forecasted weather. These assessments indicated that fire danger has decreased enough to safely remove the restrictions.
Although restrictions have been lifted, the Forest Service urges the public to continue responsible fire practices. Visitors should check current conditions before starting a campfire, ensure all fires are fully extinguished and cold to the touch before leaving, and never leave campfires or fire-related devices such as stoves, grills, or fire pits unattended.
