Skyridge girls volleyball has climbed to No. 4 in the state after winning 11 of 12 matches during the first two weeks of September, according to a September 15 report.
The Falcons reached a 15-3 record following a Division I title win at the Las Vegas Island Classic on Sept. 4-5 and a 5-1 showing at the Utah Valley Invitational from Sept. 10-12.
The team opened the month with a 3-1 road victory over Weber on Sept. 2. During the Las Vegas Island Classic, the Falcons swept all five best-of-three matches to secure the Division I title.
Junior outside hitter Sienna Kuresa has been a primary contributor this month. Kuresa recorded 14 kills, 13 digs, and 17 serve-receives against Weber, and contributed 16 kills and nine digs during a four-set win over Owyhee of Meridian, Idaho, at the Utah Valley Invitational.
Senior outside hitter Emma White also recorded significant statistics, including 17 kills and 38 serve-receives in a match against Provo, and 16 kills and 21 serve-receives during a comeback victory over Green Canyon.
In the defensive rotation, senior libero Estelle Slaney recorded 36 digs and eight assists against Provo, while Alyssa Willits led the team with 17 digs in the match against Weber.
Skyridge enters Region 3 play with upcoming matches against Corner Canyon on Tuesday, Sept. 15, and No. 2 Lone Peak on Thursday, Sept. 17. The team is scheduled to host Lehi on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
