Lehi-area boys soccer teams are preparing for the 6A state tournament. Skyridge and Lehi enter their postseason matchups with distinct season records and rankings.
Skyridge enters the tournament with a 10-6 overall record and a 6-2 record in Region 3, placing second in the region. The Falcons hold a final RPI ranking of 5 in 6A and a MaxPreps ranking of 5 in 6A, which is 16 statewide.
The Falcons will sit out the first round of the tournament. Skyridge is scheduled to host #12 Riverton on Tuesday, May 12, at 4 p.m. in the second round. If Skyridge wins, they will face the winner of the matchup between #13 Syracuse and #4 Salt Lake Academy on Thursday, May 14, at 4 p.m.
Matches are played at the home of the higher seed. The Falcons previously lost to the Silverwolves in their first match of the season. They have not played the Titans or the Griffins this year.
Lehi enters the tournament with a 0-16 overall record and a 0-8 record in Region 3, placing fifth in the region. Despite being winless, the Pioneers received the #16 seed due to schedule strength. Their final RPI ranking is 16 in 6A, while their MaxPreps ranking is 16 in 6A and 77 statewide.
Lehi will host #17 Herriman in the first round of the 6A state tournament on Friday, May 8, at 4 p.m. The winner of that game will travel to visit #1 Lone Peak on Tuesday, May 12, at 4 p.m. While Lehi did not face the Mustangs this season, they played two close matches against the Knights, losing both by a score of 2-3.
