MAGNA CITY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Pursuant to Utah Code Section 32B-1-202(7), notice is hereby given that the Magna City

Council will hold a public hearing at the Broadway Building, 3151 S Broadway Street,

Magna, Utah 84044, during its meeting on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comment regarding the proposed location of The

GEM Pizzeria and Bearded Brothers Brewing, a restaurant proposed by Jeff Isbel for

premises located at 8945 W 2700 S, Magna, Utah 84044. The proposed restaurant does not

meet the statutory distance requirements applicable to its proximity to the Magna Library.

At the date and time fixed for the public hearing, all who appear will be given an opportunity to

comment on the proposed location of the restaurant. The Council will consider the public

comments in determining whether to include in any local consent an acknowledgment and

authorization of the restaurant's proximity to the Magna Library. The Utah Alcoholic Beverage

Services Commission retains final authority to issue or deny the restaurant license.

No local consent will be issued at this public hearing. Under Utah Code Section 32B-1-202(7),

any local consent containing the acknowledgment and authorization may not be issued until at

least 30 days after the public meeting.

All interested persons are invited to attend and participate. Written comments may also be

submitted before the hearing to Diana Baun, City Recorder, at dbaun@magna.utah.gov.

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Magna City will make reasonable

accommodations for participation in the hearing. Requests for assistance may be made by calling

the Magna City Recorder at (385) 377-9466 at least three working days before the meeting. TTY

users may call 711.
