Thanksgiving Point facilities in Lehi are showcasing a variety of science and technology-focused attractions, ranging from prehistoric predator exhibits to high-tech agricultural displays. The Lehi-based complex currently features new developments including the "Need for Speed" dinosaur exhibit and specialized early-development spaces for toddlers.
Prehistoric Discoveries and Paleontology
The Mountain America Museum of Ancient Life has opened its newest dinosaur exhibit titled "Need for Speed." As part of the Jurassic Hall, the exhibit invites visitors to investigate the biological traits that made Jurassic predators successful hunters.
According to Thanksgiving Point, the museum houses one of the world's largest displays of mounted dinosaurs, featuring 60 complete skeletons. Visitors can interact with prehistory through more than 50 hands-on exhibits, including the Erosion Table and the Quarry Dig. The facility also offers specialized programming, such as the Paleo Studio, where guests can use professional tools to excavate fossils from the Eocene Era for a fee of $10 per person, or $9 for Thanksgiving Point members.
Early Development and Interactive Exhibits
The Museum of Natural Curiosity has introduced a new area called "Teamwork in the Wee Jungle," specifically designed for children ages 3 and under. This space is intended to support early development by helping infants and toddlers build motor skills, spatial awareness, and social confidence through hands-on exploration.
The museum features more than 400 hands-on exhibits across various themed areas, including Rainforest, Kidopolis, Discovery Garden, and Water Works. The facility also hosts a rotating Innovation Gallery to provide new experiences for repeat visitors. On Wednesday, September 3, the museum has a scheduled early closure at 6 pm.
Agricultural Technology and Innovation
At Curiosity Farms, agricultural technology is showcased through various high-tech displays. The Innovation Station features drone pollinators, robot farm hands, and GPS-controlled tractors to demonstrate modern advancements in farming.
In the Grow Tech Gardens, high-tech hydroponic containers are used to grow vegetables, herbs, and greens that are supplied to Thanksgiving Point restaurants. The facility also features a Livestock Learning Lab, a new building where visitors can participate in exhibits focused on animal care, genetics, economics, and breeding.
Educational Programming and Admission
Thanksgiving Point provides various daily STEM discovery programs across its locations. At the Museum of Ancient Life, scheduled programs include DinoTectives, Lab Live, and Baby Dinos 101. The Museum of Natural Curiosity offers sessions such as Bubble Lab, Crafty Creations, and Animal Adventures.
Curiosity Farms offers daily programming including Cow Milking, Plant Lab, and Animals Up Close. These programs are held daily from Monday through Saturday. Admission to the various attractions is time-ticketed with limited availability, and visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance.
