Mapleton City is proposing revisions to its Public Works Design Standards, according to a August 18 notice. The proposed updates involve revisions to standards and drawings originally adopted in 2023 for infrastructure under the city's jurisdiction.
The revisions include updates to existing written standards and standard drawings. Additionally, the proposal includes new written standards, standard drawings, and city-specific modifications to the Utah American Public Works Association (APWA) General Conditions.
Public Works department officials noted that these standards apply to infrastructure constructed as a City project or proposed with private development. The final draft of the revised standards is available for review on the Mapleton website under the Public Works department's engineering and construction standards section.
The Mapleton City Council was scheduled to present the proposed design standards for approval on September 2, 2026, at 6:00 pm. The meeting, held at the Mapleton City Council Chambers located at 125 West 400 North, was set to include a public hearing regarding the adoption of the standards.
