The No. 14 ranked Utah cross country team finished eighth-overall on October 8 at the Nuttycombe Invitational. The race took place at the Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Verona, Wisconsin.
Erin Vringer led the Utah women with a time of 19:57.1, finishing 29th-overall. This performance was her best time at this race during her collegiate career. Millie Wilcox finished second for the team, placing 34th-overall after passing 17 runners during the final 2km of the race with a time of 20:04.1.
Annastasia Peters finished 47th-overall with a time of 20:15.1. The top five Utah finishers were completed by Tayla Gunton in 69th-overall (20:31.7) and Josie Fale in 98th-overall (20:52.2).
Bri Rinn and Mackenzie Rogers completed the group for the Utes on Friday, recording times of 21:07.8 and 21:09.8, respectively. Rinn passed 37 runners in the final 2km stretch, while Rogers passed 10 runners.
In the women's B race, Marika Couture placed 10th-overall with a time of 20:52.9. Rebecca O'Keefe finished 20th-overall with a mark of 21:08.5 in her first race of the season and her first race as a Ute.
Freshmen Piper Simpson and Zoey Nilsson both recorded new personal best marks during the B race. Simpson finished 23rd with a time of 21:21.8, and Nilsson finished 29th with a time of 21:30.8. Allie Bruce finished 39th-overall in the B race with a time of 21:42.4 during her first 6k race.
The women of Utah will next compete in the Big 12 Cross Country Championships. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Greiner Family Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
