The City of Cedar Hills has announced a prohibition on the discharge of personal fireworks within city limits for the upcoming Pioneer Day weekend.
This decision comes after Governor Spencer Cox provided municipalities the ability to coordinate restrictions through collaboration with the Mayor, Fire Chief, and the State Forester.
City officials stated that the restriction is part of a zero tolerance policy intended for the safety of the community.
Residents who observe personal fireworks being used are asked to contact non-emergency dispatch at 801-794-3970.
