The City of Big Water has provided information regarding municipal elections and certified results in a notice posted to the city's website. The information includes details on the 2025 Municipal General Election and candidate filing requirements.
According to a notice on the city's website, the candidacy filing period for the 2025 municipal election was scheduled for June 2 through June 6, 2025, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Candidates were required to print all items in the declaration of candidacy packet and sign them in the presence of the Elections Officer.
Candidates for four-year terms included Tara Chiasson and Jennie Lassen. Two-year term candidates included James Lybarger and James Loyd. The mayoral candidates listed were David Schmuker and Vincent Olson.
The city website also hosts certified election results from the November 4, 2025, General Election along with various financial disclosure forms and conflict of interest statements for elected officers.
